This week saw yet another horrific school shooting.

It's so incredibly heartbreaking to find ourselves here again.

For some of us, all we can do in the wake of these tragedies is reassure ourselves, our families, and our students as best we can. If you're wanting to talk with your students, or your own kids, about gun violence and school safety but are struggling to find the words, you can find some resources at the link in our bio.

Some of us are ready to act—and feel so frustrated that policies to keep guns out of our schools remain a non-starter.

As always, the answer is found in building power together. Local organizing can lead to stronger safety plans and policies at the school and district level.  Local organizing is also the only route to changing the political dynamics at the state level—which is what we'll need to pass laws keeping guns off our campuses.

Educators cannot shoulder this burden alone. Change will need to come from parents, students, neighbors and community members recognizing alongside us that the status quo is not acceptable. In moments like this, all we have is each other.
